Subject: You Need To Find an Assistant

Hi Lauren,

Lovely to speak to you on the phone yesterday - I can tell you’re a very lovely, principled woman.

But here's my problem:  You might be a licensed private investigator, but I’m a cop’s wife and that means  I don’t take anything for granted!

You have good references and a solid reputation, but you're going to have to prove yourself to me if you want the job.  Remember you are investigating a decorated cop.  You're going to have to be better than good.

So... I understand that you're without an assistant right now which means you're going to have to find someone to work with you in order to win this job.

When you find your assistant, I’ve lined up a number of challenges for them.  If they complete the challenges correctly then the job is yours. Fail to solve them and I’ll be searching for another private investigator.

Feel free to have them seek help from friends and colleagues with specialized knowledge.  This isn't a closed-book exam.  I’m interested in only finding out about my husband’s shady activities.  I don’t care how you go about achieving this.

Good luck,

Jennifer Hayes
